FREE Decimal Place Value Notebooking Pages from the Notebooking Fairy

In our math history lessons, we came to Stevin and Napier, two mathematicians who were proponents of using a decimal in numeric notation. It’s hard to imagine there was math without the decimal, but it didn’t become standard to use a decimal until 1619 (in England).

I created this notebooking page so that Sprite can write about how decimals work and how they are superior to (easier than) fractions. The top has a chart with place value slots for hundred thousands to thousandths units. This page is perfect for your living math studies and math notebooking. I used only the intermediate and advanced line styles, assuming that primary age writers would not be studying decimals.

As always, I love to hear when you use the free printables from The Notebooking Fairy in your homeschool. If you send me photos, I will feature you in a Show Off post.

Her guide to notebooking—Notebooking Success—guides you through notebooking: what it is; how to use it; how it fits a Charlotte Mason, classical, and textbook curriculum; tips for getting the most educational value from it; and much more. It comes bundled with several bonuses, including a small set of generic notebooking pages that can be used with any topic.
