Amy’s seven year old daughter used the book report notebooking page for narrating a novel. You can read more at Narration Questions. Impressive for a secondgrader, to be sure!

As you can see, it is a combination of the child’s written narrations and details written by Amy from her daughter’s dictation. Amy also chose to omit the theme section of the notebooking page. This is a great example of how to modify a notebooking printable to fit your particular needs.

Amy said,

As you can see from the page, Lulu and I did it together, but she really seemed to get most of the elements of the novel.  Even though she’s young, she was very motivated by the format, and I expect to continue to use it with her and her sister as they get older.

The pages here at The Notebooking Fairy are tools which can be used in many different ways, and I hope that you always feel free to adjust them as you choose just as Amy did.

Thanks for sharing, Amy! And remember that I love to feature your children’s use of The Notebooking Fairy’s pages in a show off post.
