The blog post 50 Things to Put in a Notebook continues to be one of the most popular how to posts here at The Notebooking Fairy. So to bring that post to life, I am going to begin a blog series, showing you specific examples of those fifty different things.

Fifty Things to Put into a Notebook:  #10 Photographs

Photographs are perfect for making notebooking pages after a field trip or some other real life event. Of course, not every location allows photography. In those situations, I revert to purchased postcards.

But if photography is allowed, consider making prints of the very best photos and then use them as the basis for notebooking pages.  Here are three sample pages that my daughter recently created. We visited a Greek festival where we were given a very educational tour of the Orthodox church.

Inside the Church

I was the photographer in this case, but it is a good idea to let your child take photos and choose which ones to print. Sometimes having a camera helps a child to focus better during a trip because he has a very concrete task to achieve — documenting the field trip.

Two Photos with captions

Putting the photos onto notebooking pages a week after the event was a good chance to review what we learned, discuss it again, and tie it to our study of Byzantium. Of course, the photos will need explanation, so brief captions serve as a narration of the field trip and what was learned.

Photos with Candles

You can use glue, tape, or photo corners to affix the photos to cardstock or sturdy paper.
