Q: Do I need printable notebooking pages at all?
A: No, all you need is paper!

da vinci calendar pageAbove is a good example. In our Metropolitan Museum of Art Page a Day Calendar there was a Da Vinci sketch Sprite wanted to include in her Da Vinci notebooking pages.

She simply affixed it to a plan sheet of copy paper. To help with writing at the top, she cut out a square of lined notebooking paper and affixed that onto the copy paper. After hole punching it, the plain paper page was ready to go into the notebook alongside the printable templates.

Variety is the spice of life and the spice of notebooking. Do you plain paper for notebooking pages?

Her guide to notebooking—Notebooking Success—guides you through notebooking: what it is; how to use it; how it fits a Charlotte Mason, classical, and textbook curriculum; tips for getting the most educational value from it; and much more. It comes bundled with several bonuses, including a small set of generic notebooking pages that can be used with any topic.

Sprite is a genius–simplicity is best. Why worry about finding just the right notebooking page when you can follow her example. Her handwriting is excellent! My son would rather endure hard labor than write. Maybe if he ends up being a doctor his handwriting won’t be an issue. 😛 We have been known on occasion to print out an encyclopedia article and cut out sections to glue onto notebooking pages.

@Melody — LOL on the doctor career! Sprite’s handwriting really fluctuates. If she takes her time, she can write nicely. But that’s not to say that she always does that!
