Q:  What about items that are too small to hole punch for the notebook? How can we put them into the notebook?

A: There are two main ways to get small things into your notebooks:

science minibooks 1.  Affix them to something you can hole punch, namely cardstock.

You can use paper, but remember that the thickness of your base needs to be at least as thick as the item you are pasting on. If your base if too flimsy, the holes will rip through.

Glues or photo corners are options for affixing the small items.

2.  Insert them into a page protector or pocket which does have holes.

(Make your own pockets with repurposed manila envelopes.)

Sometimes we make small pockets for smaller removable items by folding cardstock or paper, depending on what your putting in the pocket.

I use small ziplock baggies and tape the side with duct tape, punch it, and “Viola!” into the file! What is nice about this method is that we can see what is inside. 🙂
